Zen gardens have been in existence for centuries since the arrival of Zen Buddhism. This type of zen garden is called karesansui or "dry mountain and water garden". The rocks represent mountains, while the sand represents water, giving the imagery of a tranquil setting of nature. This is a miniature recreation of the magnificent gardens found in Japan.
In Japan as well as Hawaii, fire is believed to represent life, passion and vitality. Candles provide a means to harness these flames to serve a specific purpose...to ensure a successful marriage. |
